The Portugal/Alumni Chapter would like to invite you to celebrate the second Thanksgiving dinner with PAPS in Lisbon. As you know it will be next week day 24. I am still waiting for some possibilities but I will try to book something around 20 euros/person depending on the number of attendance. I would like to know if you are interested on participate in this exciting dinner.

Please come and enjoy the company of old friends and meet other members that have come back to Portugal. We would also like to welcome your partner and your children while we taste the traditional turkey dinner. Please reply to portugal@papsonline.org ASAP.

Last Saturday, April 16, at the XII PAPS Forum in New York, Ricardo Oliveira was announced the winner of the PAPS–LBC Leadership Award 2010. He unleashed his entrepreneurship and leadership potential and moved to the Silicon Valley to establish ThousandEyes, a company delivering enterprise solutions to optimize the availability, performance and security of web applications and services.

Since Ricardo couldn't attend the award ceremony, he made this video. His nomination was also highlighted in the news, like this article in the Sol newspaper.

This year’s Annual Meeting will take place during the weekend of April 16th – 17th in New York City at the New York University Langone Medical Center.

Members of the Boston and the Rhode Island chapters of PAPS got together on December 7 to set an end to another Fall semester and to celebrate the upcoming Holidays. There was "carne de porco à alentejana", "bacalhau à Brás" and chocolate mousse, what could possibly have gone wrong? Indeed, nothing did, and everyone had a lot of fun! After dinner we all gathered for a small Yankee gift swap, a very efficient way of making people get to know each other better.

PAPS will present at the 3rd session of "Encontros de Empregabilidade 10" on "How to study in the U.S.A. – Informations about Masters and Ph.D. Programs". The session will take place on December 15, 2010, at 2.30pm in Anf. 041 in the Biology building, at the Faculty of Sciences. Attendance is free but registration is required. I'm here to invite you to the PAPS Indiana picnic on October 3rd at 1pm. This event will take place in one of the shelters (TBD) of Bryan Park, in Bloomington, Indiana.

Members are welcome to bring food and drink (but remember that Indiana State Law forbides the consumption of alcoholic drinks in public).
