Gift of $10,000 for UMass Dartmouth Summer Program in Portuguese

The UMD Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture announces a $10,000 grant from the Luso-American Foundation of Lisbon for the 17th Annual Summer Program in Portuguese (July 7 - August 6, 2010). The Program offers intensive courses at the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, in addition to an undergraduate course on Portuguese-American Literature and a graduate seminar on Globalization and Diaspora in Lusophone Literatures and Cultures. The donation is earmarked for scholarships and other expenses related to the program, including the lecture series and concert series.
